Why John Green Is a God of Y/A Literature

<-----tehe

Reason One: He writes realistically. He is not afraid to write about the facts of life which in includes a LOT of death...sob. Also his stories are about normal people living normal lives and how they deal with their own reality.

Reason Two: He realized that we are not idiots. Although we may not be the wisest of people, teenagers/young adults are smarter then we are given credit for. And John Green doesn't choose to dumb down a story.

Reason Three: He understands how teens/young adults exist. He is so accurate with how teens interact, think, and talk while still creating a diverse, complex, and deep character personalities.

Reason Four: He isn't pretentious. His writing is unique and modern. He also doesn't just sit in his parlor all day, smoke a pipe, and refuse to interact with the "common folk". He has a YouTube channel for goodness sake!

Reason Five: His books are the paper personification of the human condition...he understands us and can put it into words and words into phrases and that somehow=life...genius.

"Sometimes I don't get you, I said.

She didn't even glance at me. She just smiled toward the television and said, 'You never get me. Thats the whole point."

Best Products For Dry Skin

_________________________________________________________________________________

Hello everyone!<3

So with fall on its merry little way back into our lives again, skin irritation comes along with it.:/For some of you this might not be an issue, but for those with dry skin like me, its ridiculously annoying especially when makeup is concerned.Foundation, concealer and especially powder does not sit right on the skin and looks flakey and definitely not natural. The key to combat this villain is to HYDRATE! I know what your thinking, "duh Gabriela, of course you should hydrate if you have dry skin!" but not just with a moisturizer, although this is really, really important, but with the makeup that you use as well!

Step 1. Coconut Oil

This stuff is amazing! It's super hydrating and will totally restore your skin! And don't worry about the "oil" aspect of it, it wont make you break out! In fact, it does the opposite and prevents acne! I put on a little dot of it after my moisturizer and let it sit for about a minute or so before I apply my foundation! BTW, you can find this in your local health food store!

Step 2. Liquid Foundation/Tinted Moisturizer

Powder foundation is horrible for dry skinned beauties! So stick with either a liquid foundation or tinted moisturizer. It's important that these are also hydrating products! My favorite foundation at the moment is the "YSLLE TEINT TOUCHE ÉCLAT, Illuminating Foundation SPF 19. It is pricey BUT it lasts forever when used properly (all you need is one pump, I use one half of the pump and apply with my fingers and then the othet half with either a face sponge or a brush). AND my favorite tinted moisturizer is of course, "Laura Mercier". Make sure you DON'T get the oil-free tinted moisturizer, this will dry out the skin

Step 3. Concealer

Okay, so my favorite concealer OF ALL TIME and THUS FAR is... "Benefit Cosmetics" Fake Up concealer. Now this might not be the best concealer for covering up very dark blemishes or severe acne but it does cover the occasional blemish or dark spot. What I looovvve about this concealer is the hydrating effect it comes with. It's held in a lipstick type tube and the actual concealing product is encompassed by an moisturizing gel. You HAVE to check this out its fantastic!
(Okay guys I have to confess that I have no idea why I took a picture of the "Maybelline New York" concealer considering I wasn't going to originally add it in. BUT its to late to take it out cause I already took the picture with it, yes I am an idiot. I really love it though anyways and I use it as a highlighter and it works really well, it is super cheap too which is always a bonus! Oh and sorry for how messy it is, as you can see I use it a lot.:)

step 4. Blush/Bronzer

Liquid blush and bronzer is a little harder to find. You can go with a creme blush but I have yet to find one that stays without powder. That is why I love "Benefit Cosmetics" because they have a decent array of skin/lip tints that include a bronzer and blushes!

*Just to let you guys know, please feel free to mix and match different products and find what works for you! This is just a powder free routine that works really well for me but might not for you. But, hopefully you learned about some awesome products to try!=)*

let me know if you like this post or if it was helpful!<3

Fall Fashion / First post ever!

_________________________________________________________________

Hello everyone!

(and by "everyone" I mean those of you who have accidentally clicked onto my blog and have unintentionally seen this OR those of you who are bored out of your minds and the only way to keep yourself sane and not jumping out a window is to read this post)either way, stay!! You will hopefully be glad you did!:) I have been debating what this post should be about and after much consideration and thought I went with the vague but ever so festive subject of..... FALL. Fall is my favorite time of year(not counting Christmas, of course)and not just because of Pumpkin Spice Lattes/ Pumpkin Muffins from Starbucks, wonderfully smelling candles, and over sized sweaters that give you an excuse to dress like a hobo while still looking cute, (nothing against hobos, they get to wear sweaters;))but because of fall fashion! awhh yes, leggings, scarfs, and Uggs, the very definition of autumn fashion. No matter how cute and comfy this combo may be, its becoming the unofficial uniform of teenage girls all around the world. It's time we start putting originality back into the way we dress. Let the outside reflect the inside, not the "popular girl" who sits in the row next to you in English class.

Okay, so I just rambled! haha! BUT I want to provide you with some different ideas for what I like to call FF (fall fashion)that might inspire you to put away the Uggs for a little extended summer!
(I just thought I should let you know that this post is just for inspiration to change up the "fall look" just a bit, I love them sweaters and legging!<3)
Oh! and please feel free to totally ignore me and rock those Uggs and sweaters aalll autumn long if you want!:) Wear whatever makes you feel confident, lovely ladies!<3

Alrighty, lets get to it!

  • Dresses:

Prints are everywhere lately! I love the abstract flower!

TIP: Pair with some cute oxfords or penny loafers with a camel colored peacoat and maybe even a cute french side braid!

  • Tops

I love the flower fabric mixed with a peplum flare!

Tip: Pair this blouse with some cute carmel colored flats, some cropped dark washed skinny jeans and leather jacket.

  • Bottoms:

Okay I adore this skirt! I love the way that it flows out at the bottom even though its denim material, which is very popular this season!

Tip: Match with a light top to balance the heaviness of the skirt, add some boots and patterned tights and you've got a chic look!

  • Jackets/Sweaters:

Try to hear me out on this one, imagine it over one of your favorite dresses or with some cute khakis.

Tip:compliment with a light sweater, khakis, oxfords, and a headband!

Alrighty lovely ladies, let me know if you liked my post by either liking it or commenting!

I hope you have a spectacular day!;)
